About

Cozy 3D Sudoku is where the classic Sudoku puzzle meets a whole new dimension! Wrapped in a colourful, tactile and neat package this particular take on the formula is bound to be pleasant both to the eye and the mind.

Use additional tools like hints, a 3D view of the board, shrinking of empty cells and coordinate shuffles to see the sudoku patterns clearer, or play with a Blindness modifier to strip yourself of useful visualizations and test your attention.

How To Play

Fill the 3D board with numbers while adhering to the basic rules of sudoku, depending on the chosen game mode. The goal is to leave no cell empty, but beware - you can only make 3 mistakes before the game is over, so you can't just brute force the whole thing. Pay attention.

Features

  • Control with mouse or keyboard+mouse
  • Fine-tune difficulty and explore extra modifiers with each playthrough
  • Train your brain until it pains!

Addendum

For now, the game only has one game mode - classical 4x4 sudoku but extended into a 3-dimensional 4x4x4 version. This was my first project I decided to get to a more or less finished state just to get through all the stages of releasing a small game.

As a bare minimum, I would like to add a classical 9x9x9 mode to consider the game 'full', however, I have some ideas about more game modes I could try. That said, this project wasn't meant to be anything more than an obstacle course and oooooh boy was it one. What that means is I will probably switch to other projects instead of getting bogged down with a sudoku game for a long time (especially if it's of no interest to anyone), so any work beyond adding a 9x9x9 mode is not certain to happen.

Potential Problems

  • If the in-browser version appears too stretched out - change the zoom level of your browser. It should fix itself (at the very least it does in Chrome).
  • Windows SmartScreen will warn you that the 'Cozy 3D Sudoku.exe' file comes from an unknown source. That is because this is my very first 'published' game and I do not yet have the means to purchase a valid code-signing certificate. You will have to confirm that you're okay with launching it.
  • The minimum resolution the game can be played at as of now is 960x540, and it can only be played in 16:9 resolution (it will work in any other, but it will create black letterbox bars around the game view in fullscreen mode)

Difference between in-browser and standalone

For now, the play-in-browser version and the downloadable versions have the same features, except the downloadable build can be played both in fullscreen and windowed mode in 16:9 ratio. You will be able to choose between several resolutions. in-browser game is always played embedded in the page at a resolution of 960x540.

Why does the game say 'The world will end in 28 years'???

What??? Where?

It shows up if you don't hover your mouse over any of the buttons after you start a new game.

It shouldn't do that. Don't worry about it.

it look like there is something wrong whith the sizeing. it prevents me from playing in browser. the only part of the game is the text "extra optio" in the botom rigt

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Firstly - I've lowered the standard web resolution to 960x540, which should probably help, but if it doesn't - change the zoom level in your browser. It will force the game to readjust to the new window size on this page.

Secondly - the game is locked to a 16x9 ratio because I haven't bothered with UI scaling for now, which was an unfortunate mistake on my part. This may... potentially mess with some screen resolutions. It wasn't meant to be played on a phone too.

it did not seam to help at first but when i play in full screen it seam to fix it

Oh, oh! What screen resolution do you have?

it is 2880 x 1800

Cool game, Assist mode is spelt "assit mode" though!

God damnit! You check everything again and again and again, but you still miss some tiny, puny, miserable little thing. Thank you.

Haha, sorry that that was the thing I commented on. I'll cancel it out by saying the customisation options are impressively polished and expansive

Nah nah nah I'm angry with myself, I actually appreciate you pointing out the things you find a lot! Sorry for the confusion!!!
